The American Small Business League is founded on the principle that small businesses, the backbone of a
vital American economy, should receive the fair treatment promised by the Small Business Act of 1951. The
League represents small businesses with less than 100 employees in all fields and industries throughout
the United States.
The League seeks to achieve the following goals:
- End abuses and close loopholes to ensure the intent of the Small Business Act is carried out and that
small businesses really benefit from programs established to help them.
- Promote the interests of companies with 100 employees or less, the key to a vital American economy.
- Educate the public on both the benefits and influence of small businesses as well as their true needs
and conditions affecting how they operate.
- Reverse policies that have hurt small businesses seeking contracts with local, state and federal
government.
- Support policy makers who help small businesses and oppose those who do not.
- Ensure that the Small Business Act is enforced and that the “fair portion” of federal contracts set
aside for small businesses, currently 23 %, is increased.
ASBL is the one organization that unites small
businesses in America to speak with a common voice in addressing pertinent issues.
